Sorry I missed what seemed to be a GREAT time!! I had family obligations in Boston that revolved around our first anniversary but I did talk to some people about the reunion. I would have loved to see many of the people that were there and caught up with people who I haven't seen in years. I glad everyone had so much fun!!! Best to everyone.

Thanks John and everyone else who made last weekend happen. I had the best time catching up with friends from so many years ago. It will be nice to stay in touch. Wish there could have been more time to talk with everyone, but I guess there never is enough time after so many years. I had so much fun and hope we can do it again sometime, only sooner.

This weekend was far and away the best time I could have had, trains, planes, boats and the black car back to the airport this afternoon. It was so good to see so many happy people, although often hard to hear and be heard, but now I know where you all are! Thanks to all who made it happen, especially you, John Foulds! I cannot imagine it being any better. Since I am so introverted, I hid behind my camera a lot, and will sort through and download the good ones tomorrow, after my jet lag cools down.

John, and everyone else who helped, Thanks ! This was more fun than I expected -- a little too big-- hard to get beyond the opening small talk: " So, how was your life?"
Name tags with photos AND LARGE PRINT were great...
The music was mostly danceable ( and not unbearably loud) but I could have done with a little more MoTown and Stones........ (we needed some 60 year old deejays.......)
Food was good... Mostly though the company was wonderfully nostalgic whoever we were or thought we were in high school and besides, now we're somebody else or think we are.
We get extra credit to have survived reasonably well. Who could ask for anything more?

Well, I sure had fun and am happy to report that I made it home alive this morning. It was great seeing everyone. The time flew by and it seems like there was not enough time to visit with everyone. We'll have to do this agian one day.

I am really sorry that I will not be able to attend the reunion, especially after seeing what a great turnout there will be. I am hoping that there will be lots of feedback after the reunion. It is interesting how many people ended up in the Bay Area!
Have fun, everyone.

I am unable to find Sue Bracken, Janis Leet and Bob Staak. If you have contact info for them, I'd sure appreciate it!
Also, please email me if you live in California so a list can be conpiled for a Calif. reunion!
I too would love to see Sue Cady and Beth Royer again. How do people get "lost"? Let's find 'em all!

Where are Beth Royer and Sue Cady? Their names aren't listed. I can't make the reunion but I'd love to get in touch with Beth and Sue. Any info??
BTW, I still blush, I still have red hair (& gray), and I can still do a flip.
I'll miss all you crazy nuts! Have fun! (What a day for a daydream, eh?)

I am looking forward to our reunion, and I am so grateful to those dedicated souls who are making it happen! As for me, I think I should start now to look for my yearbook in hopes of finding it by September 15! Yes, Connie Chindblom was in our class - we were known as "Blondie" (her) and "Conni" (me)in English class to distinguish the two. Think a teacher could get away with that today?

I frequently see Becky Strominger, former DHS Phys Ed teacher and coach, on the Ridgefield (CT) Golf Course. I have not spoken with her as I did not know her at DHS, but my wife, Lorelle, has. Becky has a very nice game and still walks the rather hilly course, carrying her own bag- pretty impressive as she must be in her 70's. She never rides a cart.

In regard to Eileen's entry into the guestbook, she wondered who it was that was in the Ratman and Bobin variety show. It was Rufus Millet and Bob VanSant. It was written by Bob, Rufus, Peter Nelson, Leon Rogowski, Polly Windells and my husband Warren Wehmann who played Heidi's grandfather in one skit.

Today, because I went to a children's theater production, I remember High School and two very creative human beings who put on the funniest variety show.
Ratman and Bobbin
Don't remember their names or for sure if they were in our class but it seems they were and sometimes in 'trouble' with the powers to be but they found their JOY in being creative. I hope they went on to create many more productions. The Stephen Kings of our high school. That was one of the best shows I have seen

ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED
the 1930's, 40's, 50's, and 60's !
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because . . .
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers!, no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them . . .CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!
The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,"Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us....go ahead and delete this.
For the rest of us.....pass this on.

To the Class of '66:
Does anyone know Dorothy Dudas (Knauer)? I believe she still lives in Newtown, Connecticut and may not be aware of our 40th & 41st class reunion. Her husband's name is Bernard. It would be nice if someone would contact her and let her know about the reunion.
Sincerely,

No, I'm not from your class, however, my father sort of was... Donald MacAusland [science teacher]. My sister and I grew up with the DHS students despite living in Wilton. For some unknown reason, I especially remember the classes of '66 and '67. Dad kept up with some of you. I thought that some of you might want to know that he passed away a couple of years ago. I know that DHS was ALWAYS near and dear to him.
