After many years as a reporter and management consultant, I have been working with the federal government since the mid 1990s.  I am currently director of  Intergovernmental Solutions for the U.S. government’s Office of Citizen Services and Communications.  We manage the national website (USA.gov), call center and the government’s consumer publications.  I’m responsible for bringing together senior officials from federal, state, local and other national governments to collaborate on using technology to improve services to the public.  I’m a member of the board of the American Council for Technology, a senior fellow of the Council for Excellence in Government, and soon to be deputy U.S. representative to the International Council for Information Technology in Government Administration.  I’ve been married for 19 years to a native Irishman who is a founder of a chain of American diners (go figure) in Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey.  No kids.  One cat.  We dote on our dozens of nieces and nephews.
